Meet Atreus with this Funko POP! Games No. 1341 figurine, inspired by *God of War Ragnarök*. Standing approximately 10.7 cm tall, it depicts Kratos’s son as he appears in the Norse saga, now older and more deeply involved in his own quest.
Atreus is depicted with short hair and his travelling outfit, consisting of several layers of Nordic-inspired clothing and armour. He holds his bow in front of him, immediately evoking his role as an archer and his ranged combat style. His blue tunic, leather elements, the bands wrapped around his forearms and the various details of his equipment replicate his appearance in God of War Ragnarök.
This version also reflects the character’s physical evolution since the 2018 *God of War*. Atreus is no longer simply the young companion who supports Kratos in battle: in Ragnarök, he becomes a much more independent character, with his own abilities, his own fighting style and dedicated playable sequences. Santa Monica Studio explains that they designed this evolution to allow the player to experience Atreus’s perspective first-hand.

Character background and lore
Atreus is the son of Kratos and Laufey, also known as Faye. Raised in the Nordic lands, he accompanies his father on the journey he undertakes following his mother’s death in the 2018 God of War. Through this adventure, he gradually discovers the true nature of his family and his connection to the Giants of Jötunheim. PlayStation presents the Norse saga as the story of Kratos seeking a fresh start alongside his son Atreus
At the end of their first adventure, Atreus discovers that he is also known as Loki in the prophecies of the Giants. This revelation becomes one of the main driving forces behind God of War Ragnarök. As Fimbulwinter heralds the arrival of Ragnarök, Atreus seeks to understand what Loki’s prophecy means and what role he is destined to play in the events to come.
This quest regularly causes tension with Kratos. The Spartan’s primary concern is to protect his son, and he fears that the prophecies may lead him into a new war against the gods, whilst Atreus wants answers and to act more independently. Their father-son relationship thus remains one of the central themes of the narrative, alongside the battles against the gods and creatures of the Nine Realms.
In God of War Ragnarök, Atreus becomes a directly playable character for the first time. His playstyle relies primarily on his bow, his agility, his knowledge of languages and magic, as well as abilities linked to his heritage. This development marks his gradual transition from Kratos’s young companion to a protagonist capable of pursuing his own goals and deciding for himself what role he wishes to play in Loki’s prophecy.
