Character background and lore
In the poetic and contemplative world of the hit manga *Frieren*, created by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, Frieren is an elven mage who was part of the group of heroes that defeated the Demon King at the end of a ten-year quest. With a lifespan spanning millennia, her perception of time is radically different from that of her human companions. Having once regarded the ten years she spent with them as a mere, negligible fraction of her existence, she is struck by regret upon the death of the hero, Himmel, realising that she knew almost nothing about him. She then embarks on a new journey in search of her past, in order to learn to understand the human heart.
