FRIEREN : BEYOND JOURNEY'S END - Frieren - Figure Glasscape 18cm

This Banpresto figurine from the Glasscape collection features Frieren, the elven sorceress at the heart of *Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End*. Standing approximately 18 cm tall, this Glasscape II version features a particularly contemplative composition: Frieren is depicted sitting in front of a large, illustrated circular backdrop, transforming the figurine into a veritable miniature scene dedicated to memories of her past journey.

Frieren wears her signature outfit, consisting of a white dress trimmed with gold, a black-and-white striped top, dark tights and brown boots. Her long, light-coloured hair is tied back in two low ponytails, and her calm expression reflects her generally reserved nature. Her seated posture, with her legs crossed and her arms relaxed, reinforces the peaceful atmosphere of the composition.

The main feature of this figurine is the large circular panel positioned behind Frieren. Inspired by the aesthetic of a stained-glass window, it combines blue floral motifs, gold ornamentation and small stars. Himmel appears at the centre of the scene, standing behind Frieren, surrounded by a wreath of blue flowers. This visual combination directly evokes the memories the sorceress holds of the hero and the role he continues to play in her new journey.

The display is held in place by two translucent blue-tinted supports that blend seamlessly with the overall aesthetic of the piece. Unlike figurines that focus on an attack or a dynamic pose, the Glasscape range favours a narrative and decorative presentation here, particularly suited to the melancholic atmosphere of *Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End*

Character background and universe (Lore)

Frieren is an elven sorceress who has lived for over a millennium. Before the main story begins, she is part of the hero Himmel’s group, alongside the priest Heiter and the warrior Eisen. Together, the four adventurers travel the world for ten years before defeating the Demon King and restoring peace.

For Frieren, whose life expectancy far exceeds that of humans, these ten years initially represented only a relatively short period. After the group went their separate ways, she naturally resumed her journey dedicated to researching and studying new spells. Fifty years later, when she is reunited with her former companions, Himmel has become an old man. His death shortly after their reunion makes Frieren realise how little time she had actually spent getting to know the people with whom she had, after all, shared a decade.

This realisation becomes the starting point for her new journey. Accompanied first by Fern and then by Stark, Frieren revisits places she once travelled to with Himmel and gradually discovers the significance of many gestures and words she had not paid attention to at the time. Memories of her former companion thus play an increasingly significant role in her understanding of humans and their emotions

Frieren is also an exceptionally powerful sorceress with a deep passion for magic. She is equally interested in practical spells and the most trivial forms of magic, accumulating knowledge and grimoires throughout her travels. Behind her often calm and detached demeanour, a deeper understanding of the brevity of human life and the value of shared memories is gradually developing.
