Origin and background of the scene (Lore)
In the original Final Fantasy VII storyline, Cloud Strife is a former SOLDIER turned disillusioned mercenary, who joins the eco-terrorist group Avalanche to carry out sabotage operations against the greedy Shinra energy company. Captured and imprisoned at the top of the multinational’s tower in Midgar, the group manages to escape following a mysterious massacre that unleashes the creature Jenova. Hunted by security forces through the skyscraper’s corridors, the heroes stage a spectacular escape. Cloud commandeers the Hardy-Daytona, the very latest prototype of a heavy motorbike on display in Shinra’s lobby, whilst his companions pile into a pick-up truck. With the Crush Blade in hand whilst riding the bike, Cloud smashes through the complex’s windows to launch himself onto Midgar’s elevated motorway, covering his team’s rear in a legendary motorised chase that has gone down in video game history.
