See Tapion as he appears in *Dragon Ball Z* with this collectable figurine from Banpresto’s Solid Edge Works range. Standing approximately 22 cm tall, it depicts the hero of Konats in an iconic pose, playing his ocarina to hold back the fearsome monster Hildegarn.
The figurine accurately reproduces the key features of his appearance: his spiky red hair, pointed ears, golden headband and long orange tunic worn over dark green trousers. His turquoise-blue scarf billows out behind him, adding movement to the composition, whilst his golden boots and brown gloves complete his distinctive outfit.
Tapion holds his ocarina in his hands in a focused and solemn pose. His sword is sheathed in a red scabbard fastened to his back, a detail that is particularly visible from the rear of the figurine. The combination of the ethereal posture, the sculpted folds of the garment and the flowing scarf reinforces the heroic and dramatic character of this piece.
Tapion is a warrior from the planet Konats, who appeared in the film Dragon Ball Z: The Attack of the Dragon. Together with his brother Minotia, he once took part in the battle against Hildegarn, a gigantic monster created by evil sorcerers. In order to imprison the creature, its body was split into two parts, each of which was sealed within one of the two brothers.
Tapion uses the melody of his ocarina to keep the upper half of Hildegarn sealed within him and prevent the monster from breaking free. After arriving on Earth, he forms a brotherly bond with Trunks, to whom he eventually entrusts his sword. Courageous and melancholic, Tapion has remained a particularly beloved character for his appearance as a legendary hero, his sense of sacrifice and his iconic theme tune.
