DRAGON BALL Z - Frieza - Hooded Sweat (M)

Character background and universe (Lore)

Frieza is one of the main antagonists in Dragon Ball Z. At the head of a vast galactic empire, he rules over numerous planets by force and, in particular, uses the Saiyans to conquer worlds before selling them on.

Fearing the growing power of the Saiyan people and the possible emergence of the legendary Super Saiyan, Frieza orders the destruction of Planet Vegeta. This event makes him a central figure in the story of Goku, Vegeta and the entire Saiyan race.

Frieza plays a particularly important role during the Planet Namek arc. He searches for the Dragon Balls in order to gain immortality and successively faces off against the Earth warriors, the Namekians and Vegeta. His battle against Goku is one of the series’ major showdowns and leads to Goku’s first transformation into a Super Saiyan.

The character has several forms that allow him to either contain or gradually unleash his power. His best-known appearance is characterised by a predominantly white body, purple patches and a long tail – elements directly featured in the illustration on the back of this jumper.
