Character background and universe (Lore)

Vegito is the warrior created by the fusion of Goku and Vegeta using the Kaioshin’s Potara earrings. He first appears during the Majin Buu saga in Dragon Ball Z, when the two Saiyans join forces to face an opponent who has become too powerful for them to handle individually. The official Dragon Ball website confirms that Vegito is the direct result of this Potara fusion between Goku and Vegeta.

In Dragon Ball Super, Vegito reappears during the Future Trunks arc to face the fused Zamasu. Goku and Vegeta use the Potara earrings once again, but this time their fusion is able to harness the divine power of Super Saiyan Blue, giving rise to Vegito Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. His hair then turns cyan blue, whilst his power combines the abilities of the two fused Saiyans.

This transformation is one of Vegito’s most recognisable forms in Dragon Ball Super. The ‘Blood of Saiyans’ collection specifically highlights this aspect through his blue hair, which features a metallic finish; Bandai Spirits has confirmed that this range uses this type of paint to emphasise the Saiyans’ iconic transformations.
