DRAGON BALL SUPER – Son Goku Ultra Instinct – Ichibansho MASTERLISE ‘The Chronicle of Goku’ – 25 cm figurine

The Ichibansho collection from Banpresto / Bandai Spirits traces the major stages in Son Goku’s evolution with the series *The Chronicle of Goku*. This figure, measuring approximately 25 cm, captures the Saiyan in his Ultra Instinct form, one of his most powerful states in Dragon Ball Super. Part of the MASTERLISE range, it features an imposing and detailed sculpt that particularly highlights the character’s musculature, tattered clothing and focused expression.

Son Goku is depicted standing, with his legs firmly planted and both fists clenched, in a calm yet powerful stance. His torso is completely bare and his musculature is sculpted with great definition, accompanied by various marks evoking the intensity of the battles he has just endured. Rather than a spectacular attack pose, the figurine emphasises the mastery and concentration characteristic of Ultra Instinct.

His spiky silver hair and light-coloured eyes make it immediately clear that he is in the full form of Ultra Instinct. Goku retains the heavily damaged lower half of his orange gi: the trousers are badly torn at the waist and along the legs, whilst his dark blue belt is also in tatters. His blue armbands and his midnight-blue boots, edged in red and held in place by light-coloured laces, complete this post-battle look.

Standing 25 cm tall, this version of Goku is one of the key pieces in The Chronicle of Goku series. It can be displayed alongside the other major milestones in his journey featured in the same collection, from the young Goku of Dragon Ball’s early days to his most advanced transformations.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Ultra Instinct represents a major evolution in Son Goku’s abilities in Dragon Ball Super. This technique allows the body to react automatically to attacks without relying on conscious decision-making, thereby separating the fighter’s movements from their thought process. The official Dragon Ball website describes this ability as enabling Goku to react instinctively and dodge attacks with exceptional efficiency.

Goku begins to access this ability during the Tournament of Power, a competition bringing together fighters from several universes. Faced with the exceptional power of Jiren, the representative of Universe 11, he gradually pushes beyond his limits and first manifests the incomplete state known as Ultra Instinct -Sign-. This initial form remains difficult to sustain and does not yet represent full mastery of the technique.

During his battle against Jiren, Goku finally manages to achieve a complete version of Ultra Instinct, recognisable in particular by his silver hair. The official Dragon Ball website specifically distinguishes this perfected form from Ultra Instinct -Sign- and presents it as a stage at which Goku truly enters the realm of divine techniques.

This ‘The Chronicle of Goku’ figurine captures precisely this perfected version. His bare torso, torn clothing and battle scars reflect the state in which Goku attains this power, whilst his surprisingly calm posture conveys the central idea of Ultra Instinct: to act without hesitation, with a body capable of fighting independently of conscious thought.
