Origin and background of the character
Son Goku (born Kakarot) is the central protagonist of the global Dragon Ball saga, the universal masterpiece created by the late master Akira Toriyama in 1984. Sent to Earth as an infant to conquer the planet, this member of the warrior race known as the Saiyans loses his warlike nature after an accidental blow to the head and grows up with exceptional purity of soul. Guided by his insatiable love for martial arts and pushing himself to the limit, he trains tirelessly under the greatest masters, from Master Roshi to cosmic deities, to protect his friends and the universe from ever-growing threats. Banpresto’s “Ichibansho” sub-category is acclaimed worldwide by discerning collectors for its exceptional finish, rigorous anatomical accuracy and meticulous attention to detail. This 16 cm figurine captures the features of his face and the intricate folds of his famous outfit with surgical precision, establishing itself as an essential centrepiece to enhance your display cabinet.
