Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Released in 1994, The Lion King is one of the greatest successes in the history of the Disney studios. After the tragic loss of his father Mufasa and fleeing the machinations of his uncle Scar, young Prince Simba finds refuge in a remote jungle. Taken in by the meerkat Timon and the warthog Pumbaa, he adopts their relaxed philosophy of life based on the expression "Hakuna Matata" (no worries). To survive and integrate into his new adopted family, the future king must abandon his predatory habits and learn to feed exclusively on slimy but "slimy but tasty" larvae, a humorous culinary transition that will shape his youth before his triumphant return to the throne.
