Character background and lore
In the dark world of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Shinobu Kocho holds the respected rank of Insect Hashira within the Demon Slayer Corps. Despite her frail appearance and her physical inability to sever demons’ heads due to her small stature, she compensates for this weakness with extraordinary agility, lightning-fast thrusting speed and absolute mastery of pharmacology.
Shinobu has developed the "Insect Style" fighting technique, a variation of the Flower Style, which relies on the use of a unique katana whose tip is coated in a deadly wisteria-based poison. Behind her constant smile and apparent kindness lies a fierce hatred of demons, stemming from the loss of her elder sister, Kanae. Her role as a medical mentor at the Butterfly Manor and her complex personality make her one of the most fascinating and beloved characters in the series.
