Origin and background of the licence (Lore)

The Care Bears, known as the Bisounours in the French version, are characters who first appeared in the early 1980s before becoming the stars of animated series, films and numerous merchandise items.

Each Care Bear has a distinct personality and a distinctive symbol on its tummy, usually associated with a positive emotion, quality or value such as friendship, joy, tenderness or courage.

The Care Bears’ world is largely based on themes of kindness, mutual support and the expression of emotions, all set against a very colourful backdrop of rainbows, clouds, stars and hearts.

The heart motif used on this stationery set therefore fits naturally into the licence’s visual identity, making it particularly well-suited to fans of cute, nostalgic and colourful accessories.
