Origin and world of the character
The character of Ichigo Kurosaki is the central protagonist of the famous shōnen manga Bleach, written and drawn by Tite Kubo, and its acclaimed animated adaptation Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War (TYBW). A high school student with the ability to see spirits, his life is turned upside down when he accidentally absorbs the powers of Shinigami Rukia Kuchiki to protect his family. Now a substitute Shinigami, he takes on the onerous task of purifying the Hollows (corrupted souls) and maintaining the balance of the worlds. In the Bloody War of a Thousand Years arc, Ichigo faces Soul Society's greatest crisis: the brutal and destructive invasion of the Quincy army led by Emperor Yhwach. This final conflict drives him to explore the truth about his complex origins - blending Shinigami, Quincy and Hollow heritage - in order to forge his true Zanpakutō double, Zangetsu, and awaken a divine power essential to saving the very existence of the universe.
