Meet Mr Fantastic (Reed Richards) with this Funko POP! Marvel No. 1639 figurine, directly inspired by Avengers: Doomsday. Standing approximately 10.7 cm tall, it captures the leader of the Fantastic Four in the distinctive POP! style, with an oversized head, a compact body and the bobble-head mechanism characteristic of the brand’s many Marvel figures.
Reed Richards is depicted in his blue Fantastic Four uniform, featuring the famous number 4 on the centre of his chest. The outfit is completed by a belt and white boots, as well as various black details. His brown hair features the characteristic greying strands at the temples, whilst his moustache closely mirrors the character’s appearance in this film adaptation.
The pose also highlights his heroic, action-ready demeanour: one hand is open and extended forwards, whilst the other is clenched into a fist. Reed Richards, alias Mr Fantastic, is the leader and one of the founding members of the Fantastic Four, Marvel’s ‘First Family’. A scientist of exceptional intelligence, Reed takes part, alongside Susan Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm, in a space mission that exposes the group to cosmic radiation. This experience transforms their bodies and grants them extraordinary abilities.
Reed gains the ability to alter the elasticity and shape of his body, allowing him to stretch his limbs over great distances, contort himself or adapt his form to different situations. His scientific mind, however, remains his greatest strength: Marvel portrays him as one of the brightest minds in its universe, regularly confronted with scientific, dimensional or cosmic problems that are beyond the capabilities of most heroes.
His relationship with Victor von Doom / Doctor Doom also constitutes one of Marvel’s most significant long-standing rivalries. Both men share an extraordinary intellect, but their radically different worldviews and personalities regularly pit them against one another.
