Keep your coins safe with Astro thanks to this “Coin Buddies” 3D piggy bank, designed by Paladone under official PlayStation licence. Standing approximately 17 cm tall, it depicts the iconic little robot holding a large coin in its arms, transforming a functional accessory into a decorative item directly inspired by the world of ASTRO BOT.

The unique feature of this piggy bank is its interactive sound system. Every time a coin is inserted, one of Astro’s five voice clips is played at random. Character background and universe (Lore)

Astro has his origins in the little robots created by Team Asobi for *The Playroom* on PlayStation 4. The initial concept was based on little ‘AR Bots’ living virtually inside the DualShock 4 controller. With the development of The Playroom VR, the team wanted a proper main character for their Robot Rescue platform game prototype: Astro gradually emerged from this evolution.

The character went on to become the hero of *Astro Bot Rescue Mission* on PlayStation VR, before featuring in *Astro’s Playroom* to mark the launch of the PlayStation 5. His white and blue design, large digital eyes and expressive animations have gradually made him a figure closely associated with the PlayStation universe.

In ASTRO BOT on PlayStation 5, Astro’s PS5 mothership is destroyed and his crew scattered across the galaxy. Astro then sets off to explore more than 50 planets in order to find the missing Bots, using various abilities and encountering more than 150 characters inspired by PlayStation history along the way. This Coin Buddies piggy bank captures the character’s friendly and interactive nature by combining his design with five of his voice clips.
