Asterix is the main hero of the comic book series created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. A particularly cunning little Gallic warrior, he lives in a village in Armorica that continues to resist Roman occupation. His quick wits and the magic potion brewed by Getafix enable him to extricate himself from situations that are often far more dangerous than his small stature would suggest.

He shares most of his adventures with his best friend Obelix, a menhir delivery man blessed with boundless strength after falling into the cauldron of magic potion as a child. Together, they regularly face off against the Roman legions and travel far beyond their village as the series progresses.

Asterix stands out above all for his cunning, his courage and his love of a challenge.
