This Kotobukiya model kit depicts the MIRAGE C02-URANUS, an Armoured Core featured in the opening sequence of ARMORED CORE 3. Part of the V.I. Series – standing for Variable Infinity – this 1/72 scale model measures approximately 16 cm when assembled. It is the fifth model in the relaunch of this collection of kits dedicated to the iconic machines of the series.
The C02-URANUS features a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette characteristic of the machines developed by Mirage. Its fluidly shaped armour is combined with a design that prioritises both mobility and offensive versatility. The kit notably reproduces the WR05L-SHADE laser rifle, the CR-WL69LB laser blade, the WB11M-HYDRA multiple missile system mounted on the back, and the E08BM-REMORA extensions.
This new edition is not simply a re-release of the old kit. Kotobukiya has recreated the moulds, revised certain part separations and the layout of the sprues, and reinforced several components to improve the overall sturdiness of the kit. The kit nevertheless adheres to the standard specifications of the V.I. range, ensuring the collection’s characteristic compatibility is maintained.
The kit also includes two types of hands: clenched fists and hands designed to hold weapons. Comprising several hundred plastic parts, it allows you to recreate the imposing form of the C02-URANUS as it appears in the game’s opening cutscene.

Model’s origin and universe (Lore)
ARMORED CORE 3, originally released on PlayStation 2 in 2002, is set in a future where humanity lives in a vast underground society entirely governed by an artificial intelligence known as The Controller. The player takes on the role of a Raven, a mercenary piloting a customisable Armored Core and undertaking various missions in a world marked by rivalries between powerful corporations.
Mirage is one of the major corporations in this universe and specialises in developing its own components and machines. The MIRAGE C02-URANUS features prominently in the opening cutscene of ARMORED CORE 3. Kotobukiya has chosen to reproduce this specific configuration, recognisable by its streamlined silhouette and its armament combining a laser rifle, laser blade, multiple missiles and auxiliary boosters.
This configuration perfectly illustrates the philosophy behind Armored Core: each machine is assembled from different modules comprising the head, core, arms, legs, weaponry and additional equipment. This customisation has been one of the series’ fundamental principles since its inception, allowing the performance and combat style of each AC to be tailored to its pilot. The C02-URANUS embodies this concept in a configuration geared towards high mobility whilst retaining a range of short- and long-range offensive capabilities.
