Origin and character background
In the 1951 animated classic adapted from Lewis Carroll’s work, the Mad Hatter spends his days celebrating his “unbirthday” during a perpetual and utterly chaotic tea party, in the company of the March Hare and the Dormouse. His twisted logic and unanswerable riddles (such as the famous “Why is a raven like a desk?”) make him the ultimate symbol of the absurdity and magic of Wonderland.
