Discover Harpie Lady, one of Mai Valentine’s iconic monsters, with this figurine from the OSHI WORKS range produced by Kotobukiya. Inspired by the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters anime, this figure strikes a dynamic, airborne pose and stands approximately 28 cm tall including the long support rod. The OSHI WORKS range combines a generous scale with a standardised base designed to make it easy to display multiple characters.

Harpie Lady is depicted equipped with her Cyber Shield, with her large wings spread, her talons outstretched and her characteristic humanoid silhouette. The sculpture places particular emphasis on the movement of her wings, the character’s musculature and her downward gaze, giving the impression that she is soaring over her opponent before launching her attack.

The figurine comes with a dedicated base and two support rods – one long and one short – allowing you to adjust its height and display. As with other OSHI WORKS releases, a magnetic system holds the figurine in place whilst allowing some freedom in its positioning on the base. The model is made from PVC and ABS and is supplied as a pre-painted, partially assembled figurine.

Character background and lore

Harpie Lady is a Level 4 Winged Beast-type monster with 1300 ATK and 1400 DEF in the card game. She appears right from the very first adventures of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters and is closely associated with Mai Valentine, for whom she is one of the most iconic monsters.

Mai builds a large part of her strategy around Harpies, combining Harpie Lady with cards such as Elegant Egotist, Cyber Shield and Harpie Lady Sisters. In the anime series, this archetype allows her to quickly strengthen her monsters and multiply the number of Harpies on the field. The official Yu-Gi-Oh! website specifically links Harpie Lady and Cyber Shield to Mai from the very start of her journey to the Duelists’ Kingdom.

The Cyber Shield depicted on this figurine is therefore directly linked to the equipment used by Mai to strengthen her Harpie Lady. Over the course of the card game’s various iterations, the Harpie family has expanded to include numerous monsters and support cards, to the point where it has become a fully-fledged archetype in its own right within the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game.
