Character origin and universe
Weapon X is one of the most brutal aliases of Logan, the mutant known worldwide as Wolverine. This figurine is directly inspired by the cult comic book crossover Age of Apocalypse, published by Marvel Comics in 1995. In this dystopian alternate reality where the powerful tyrant Apocalypse has conquered North America, the history of the X-Men has been profoundly rewritten. Logan, who goes by the name Weapon X, appears darker, wilder and more solitary than ever, having notably lost a hand in battle. Funko’s “Comic Cover” range pays a masterful tribute to this legendary story arc by placing the figure in front of an exact replica of the cover of the first issue of The Astonishing X-Men. It stands as an absolute must-have for all comic book readers and loyal collectors of the X-Men universe.
