Discover Remy LeBeau in his new guise as Death Gambit with this 15 cm articulated figure from Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Series. Directly inspired by his appearance in Marvel Studios’ X-Men ’97, this version radically transforms the famous Cajun mutant following the tragic events on Genosha.
The figure depicts Gambit with dark grey skin, red eyes, white hair and a long black and midnight blue outfit. His far more menacing appearance contrasts sharply with the colourful costume traditionally associated with the character and reflects his new status as a Horseman of Apocalypse.
Fully articulated, the figure allows you to recreate various combat poses. It comes with two accessories depicting cards charged with kinetic energy, directly linked to Gambit’s iconic power but adapted to his transformation into Death.

Character background and universe (Lore)
Remy LeBeau, better known as Gambit, is a mutant from Louisiana and a member of the X-Men. A former thief with links to the Thieves’ Guild, he has the ability to charge objects he touches with kinetic energy, notably transforming his playing cards into explosive projectiles.
In X-Men ’97, Gambit has a complex relationship with Rogue, complicated both by her powers and by Magneto’s return into his life.
During the devastating attack on Genosha, carried out by the Sentinels under Bastion’s control, Gambit helps to defend the mutant population. He ultimately sacrifices himself to save Rogue and many survivors, pushing his power to its absolute limits.
His death is one of the most significant events of the first season of X-Men ’97 and leaves Rogue deeply traumatised.
The character’s story does not, however, end at Genosha. Apocalypse subsequently intervenes and brings Remy LeBeau back in a profoundly transformed state. Gambit becomes Death, one of the Horsemen of Apocalypse.
Under this new identity, his skin turns dark grey, his hair turns white, and his kinetic powers take on a more sinister form. Hasbro describes this incarnation in particular as using cards imbued with a dark kinetic energy capable of corrupting minds.
The concept of the Horsemen of Apocalypse has long been part of the X-Men universe. Apocalypse selects or transforms various individuals to embody the four traditional figures: War, Famine, Pestilence and Death. Here, Gambit becomes the Horseman of Death, hence the name Death Gambit.
This Marvel Legends figure specifically depicts this new incarnation of the character in *X-Men ’97*, following his sacrifice on Genosha and his resurrection by Apocalypse.
