X-MEN '97 - Cyclops - Figure Legend Series 15cm

Meet Scott Summers, alias Cyclops, with this 15 cm articulated action figure from Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Series. This new version is directly inspired by his appearance in season 2 of Marvel Studios’ X-Men ’97 and features an outfit that is noticeably different from the blue and yellow costume previously worn by the leader of the X-Men.

Cyclops is depicted here in a uniform dominated by yellow and black, complete with his iconic ruby-quartz visor. Fully articulated, the figure allows you to recreate various combat poses as well as his signature pose when he raises his hand to his visor before unleashing his powerful optic beams.

The figure comes with three interchangeable accessories: an alternative head and two extra hands. It is presented on an illustrated retro blister card featuring the X-Men ’97 visual style.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops, is one of the founding members of the X-Men and one of Professor Charles Xavier’s closest pupils.

His mutant power enables him to constantly emit powerful beams of energy from his eyes. Unable to control when they are triggered naturally, Scott uses glasses and later a visor made from ruby quartz to contain and direct these beams.

Beyond his powers, Cyclops is best known as one of the X-Men’s leading tacticians. His strategic acumen, discipline and ability to make quick decisions in crisis situations regularly earn him the role of team leader in the field.

He also shares a particularly significant relationship with Jean Grey. Their shared history forms one of the central themes of the X-Men universe, both in the comics and in the animated series.

X-Men ’97 picks up directly where X-Men: The Animated Series left off. Following the disappearance of Charles Xavier, Cyclops must continue to uphold his ideal of coexistence between humans and mutants whilst maintaining the unity of a team facing new threats.

The second series continues this story after several X-Men have been scattered across different eras. Apocalypse then becomes one of the main threats the team must face, whilst Scott Summers remains at the heart of the struggle to reunite the X-Men and protect the future of mutants.
