Origin and character background (Lore)
Inspired by the original stories created by the writer Alan Alexander Milne in 1926 and brought to life by Disney Studios, Winnie the Pooh is a small anthropomorphic teddy bear who comes to life in the imagination of young Christopher Robin. Living in the heart of the Hundred Acre Wood alongside his loyal friends Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore and Rabbit, Winnie is a character who is naturally calm, naive and deeply kind. Although he often describes himself as a ‘bear of little brain’, his simple-mindedness is the source of great wisdom and touching aphorisms on love and friendship. Driven almost entirely by his legendary love of honey, which he stores in his treasured ‘honey pots’, he embodies the sweetness of childhood, comfort and universal kindness.
