Character background and universe (Lore)
In the film chronology of the saga, Grimlock is the legendary leader of the Dinobots, mythical Cybertronian warriors captured and held prisoner aboard the ship of the fearsome bounty hunter Lockdown. Freed by Optimus Prime in the heart of mainland China during the critical events of Age of Extinction, Grimlock initially refuses to submit, leading to a titanic duel against the leader of the Autobots. Tamed by Optimus’s strength and determination, he agrees to join his cause and transforms into a gigantic mechanical Tyrannosaurus capable of spewing torrents of devastating flames. Armed with his colossal arsenal in robot mode, he charges Galvatron’s armies with an indomitable, primal ferocity, single-handedly turning the tide of the Battle of Hong Kong. This exceptionally large-scale figure celebrates the raw power and savage grandeur of one of the most destructive and iconic allies in the history of Cybertron.
