The Noble Collection officially joins the Transformers universe with this diorama dedicated to Optimus Prime, the iconic leader of the Autobots. This new collaboration with Hasbro covers, in particular, the Generation 1 (G1) universe as well as the film adaptations, and the dioramas are amongst the first products developed as part of this collection.
Optimus Prime is depicted in a style directly inspired by his classic G1 design, featuring red, blue, grey and yellow armour. The figure strikes a dynamic pose, as if lunging forwards, with his blaster held in his right hand. The sculpture rests on an orange-coloured base depicting a battlefield and a dramatic smoke or explosion effect that accentuates the sense of movement.
The set is presented in a transparent acrylic display case mounted on a black frame. An illustrated backdrop extends the battle scene, whilst the name ‘Optimus Prime’ appears on the front and the Transformers logo on the top. With a compact size of approximately 17 × 10 × 10 cm, this diorama is designed to be displayed directly on a shelf, a desk or in a collector’s display cabinet.
Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots, the Transformers who oppose the Decepticons and defend the freedom of sentient beings. He is generally portrayed as a courageous, thoughtful commander who is deeply committed to protecting life, and who does not hesitate to fight directly alongside his troops. Hasbro describes him as a role model for the other Autobots, guided by his intelligence, courage and compassion.
In several classic incarnations of the franchise, his former identity is Orion Pax. When he receives the Matrix of Leadership, he becomes Optimus Prime and takes command of the Autobots. This transformation makes him one of the main adversaries of Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, in the war between the two Cybertronian factions.
The Transformers franchise began in 1984 and rapidly expanded its universe through toys, animation, comics and then cinema. The red and blue design featured in this diorama is a direct nod to Optimus Prime’s iconic visual identity and the Generation 1 aesthetic, which forms part of the universes officially covered by the new The Noble Collection range.
