Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Introduced in 1995 in the first film in the Pixar saga, Buzz Lightyear was initially a high-tech toy based on the hero of a fictional science fiction series. Initially convinced that he was a real Space Ranger assigned to protect the universe from Emperor Zurg, he gradually came to realise that he was an object of play alongside cowboy Woody. Over the course of the episodes, he becomes one of the pillars and leaders of Andy's and then Bonnie's toy community. In Toy Story 5, Buzz and his companions face a new era in which children are turning away from traditional physical toys in favour of screens and connected electronic devices. This figurine captures his iconic appearance, adapted to the contemporary challenges of this new cinematic adventure.
