Origin and background of the character
Created by Matt Groening in 1989, the satirical animated series The Simpsons is an unmissable landmark in television and global pop culture. It depicts the daily life of the American middle class with sharp humour through the lens of a famous dysfunctional family living in the town of Springfield. Marjorie “Marge” Simpson is the voice of reason and the backbone of the household. Instantly recognisable by her raspy voice, her red pearl necklace and her phenomenal blue beehive hairstyle, she spends her days reining in her husband Homer’s foolishness and bringing up her children. She is depicted here in a very touching way with little Maggie Simpson, the baby of the family who communicates exclusively by noisily sucking on her red dummy. This Funko Pop! figurine captures, with a touch of nostalgia, all the tenderness of this iconic mother-and-child duo.
