Origin and background of the character
A fixture since the very first instalment of the franchise, Ryu is an eternal traveller who roams the world to perfect his mastery of martial arts and test himself against the greatest fighters. Having definitively overcome and purified the harmful influence of the Satsui no Hado that once consumed him, Ryu appears in Street Fighter 6 as an accomplished, respectful and stoic master. Now travelling in sandals like an ascetic, he continues to refine his legendary techniques such as the Hadouken and the Shoryuken, embodying the purity of the martial spirit.
