Origin and universe of the character
Created in 1968 by Stan Lee and John Buscema for Marvel Comics, Mephisto is an immortal demonic entity of colossal cosmic power, directly inspired by Mephistopheles from the legend of Faust. Reigning as an absolute tyrant over a hellish dimension he calls Hell, this master of manipulation and illusions does not seek to conquer territories by brute force, but prefers to seize pure souls through Machiavellian and deceitful pacts. A sworn enemy of the Silver Surfer and the Ghost Rider (whose tragic fate he forged), he is also famous for having turned Spider-Man’s life upside down during the controversial ‘One More Day’ story arc. With this special edition from the ‘Strange Tales’ range, Funko captures the classic design and diabolical allure of this great cosmic villain from the House of Ideas.
