Officially licensed by Star Wars, this Cotton Division hoodie features a monochrome design dedicated to the saga’s iconic spacecraft.
On the front, the design is relatively understated, featuring a large STAR WARS logo with a white outline positioned in the centre of the chest. The hoodie has a drawstring hood and a kangaroo pocket at the bottom. The sleeves are adorned with white symbols inspired by the saga’s iconography, including the Rebel Alliance emblem.
The back is the most detailed part of the design: a large composition in black, white and grey brings together several spaceships and cosmic elements from the Star Wars universe, notably featuring the Millennium Falcon prominently at the bottom. The spacecraft are set against a starry backdrop in a deliberately contrasting graphic style, giving the design its ‘Spaceships Universe Anniversary’ theme.
Spacecraft play a central role in the visual identity of Star Wars. Ever since the first film was released in 1977, the saga has featured spacecraft with very different silhouettes, ranging from the speeder bikes used by pilots to gigantic military vessels capable of transporting entire armies. This variety helps to visually distinguish the different factions across the galaxy.
Among the most iconic is the Millennium Falcon, which features prominently at the bottom of the back design of this sweatshirt. A heavily modified YT-1300 freighter, it is primarily associated with Han Solo and Chewbacca, and goes on to play a part in several decisive events in the fight against the Empire, notably the destruction of the first and second Death Stars.
The Spaceships Universe Anniversary design brings together this space-themed aspect of the franchise in a unique graphic composition. Rather than focusing on a specific character, the hoodie uses the silhouettes of spaceships, stars and faction emblems to evoke, more broadly, the battles and journeys that shape the Star Wars universe.
