STAR WARS 2 - Anakin Skywalker (Padawan) - Figure Black Series 15cm

This Hasbro articulated action figure depicts Anakin Skywalker during his time as a Padawan in *Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones*. Part of the Star Wars The Black Series collection, it measures 6 inches – approximately 15 cm – and features photorealistic sculpting and detailing directly inspired by the character’s appearance in the film.

Anakin is depicted in his Episode II Jedi outfit, consisting of a dark tunic, a brown utility belt and high boots. His hairstyle also reflects his appearance as Obi-Wan Kenobi’s young apprentice, with short hair and the characteristic Padawan braid. This version thus clearly distinguishes the young Anakin from his later appearances during the Clone Wars and in Revenge of the Sith.

The figure features multiple points of articulation, allowing for a range of combat and display poses. It comes with three accessories: Anakin’s blue lightsaber, a translucent effect to simulate the blade’s movement during an attack, and an interchangeable hand depicting the use of the Force. This combination allows the character to be displayed in both a neutral pose and during a lightsaber duel.

Character background and universe (Lore)

In Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, ten years have passed since Anakin Skywalker left Tatooine. Now a young Padawan under the tutelage of Obi-Wan Kenobi, he has become a particularly powerful user of the Force and a talented fighter. However, his impulsive nature, his desire to progress quickly and his difficulty in controlling his emotions regularly cause tension with his master. StarWars.com highlights that this passion and constant drive to push the boundaries of his training are an integral part of the character.

When Senator Padmé Amidala is the victim of an assassination attempt, Anakin and Obi-Wan are tasked with protecting her. Anakin then accompanies Padmé to Naboo, where the feelings he has harboured for her since their first meeting gradually become mutual. However, this relationship is forbidden by the rules of the Jedi Order. At the same time, his visions concerning his mother lead him to return to Tatooine, where his fear of losing those he loves begins to reveal a much darker side to his personality.

Anakin and Padmé then travel to Geonosis to rescue Obi-Wan, who has been captured after uncovering the Separatists’ military preparations. They are in turn taken prisoner and sentenced to death in the Geonosis arena before the Jedi and the Republic’s new clone army intervene. The ensuing clashes mark the official start of the Clone Wars.

This Black Series figure therefore depicts Anakin at a pivotal moment in his story: still a Jedi apprentice, yet already regarded as exceptionally powerful, he stands on the threshold of becoming one of the Republic’s great military heroes, whilst his fears, his attachment to Padmé and his struggles to follow the rules of the Jedi Order gradually foreshadow the fate that will lead him to become Darth Vader.
