This Hasbro articulated action figure depicts Queen Amidala as she appears in *Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace*. Part of the Star Wars The Black Series collection, it measures 6 inches (approximately 15 cm) and features a design inspired by the film, photorealistic detailing and costume elements made from real fabric.
Amidala is depicted here in one of her most iconic red royal outfits. The long gown combines red fabric with rich gold patterns on the front, dark brown trim and wide, fur-like cuffs. Several translucent red and yellow embellishments also appear on the lower part of the outfit. The use of fabric allows the dress to retain its volume whilst preserving the figure’s articulation.
The face features the ceremonial make-up characteristic of the Queen of Naboo: a very pale complexion, red lips with a central mark, and small red dots on the cheeks. The imposing royal headdress is reproduced with its dark side panels, its gold and red structure, and its central ornament. This combination makes the young queen’s official appearance in *The Phantom Menace* instantly recognisable.

Character background and universe (Lore)
Padmé Amidala is a leader from Naboo who first served as queen before becoming a senator in the Galactic Republic. StarWars.com describes her as a courageous and idealistic leader, deeply committed to peace but also capable of taking up arms when the situation demands it.
In Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, her reign is thrown into turmoil by the blockade and subsequent invasion of Naboo orchestrated by the Trade Federation. Protected by the Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, she temporarily leaves her planet before returning to organise its liberation. Refusing to abandon her people, she forges an alliance with the Gungans to fight the occupying forces.
Amidala also uses a system of body doubles from among her attendants to conceal her identity and minimise risks. Sabé thus repeatedly takes on the queen’s official appearance, whilst Padmé poses as a mere servant. This ceremonial and political dimension explains the significance of the particularly elaborate royal costumes worn by the character, including the spectacular red outfit reproduced by this The Black Series figurine.
