SONIC - Snow Globe

This officially licensed Sonic the Hedgehog snow globe features SEGA’s famous blue hedgehog in a decorative item designed for fans of video games and merchandise. Manufactured by Grupo Erik, it features Sonic at the centre of a transparent globe filled with small golden ring-shaped elements, directly inspired by one of the franchise’s most recognisable symbols.

The figurine depicts Sonic in his classic look, with his blue fur, white gloves and red and white trainers. The gold rings scatter throughout the globe when it is shaken, creating a decorative effect that is particularly in keeping with the character’s universe.

The globe rests on a sculpted base combining silver surfaces, black elements and grey rocks. Its design evokes a mechanical or technological setting from the Sonic universe, with various panels and embossed details arranged all around the base. The set is designed as a decorative or collectable item to be displayed on a shelf, a desk or in a display cabinet.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Sonic the Hedgehog is the iconic hero of SEGA’s video game franchise. Portrayed as a hedgehog capable of running at supersonic speeds, he travels the world to defend his friends, nature and peace against the various threats that stand in his way. His main adversary is Dr Eggman, a scientist who regularly uses machines and robots in an attempt to carry out his plans.

Speed is one of the key elements of Sonic’s identity, but the golden rings have also become an integral part of the series. Their presence in the form of confetti inside this snow globe thus serves as an immediate visual reminder of the blue hedgehog’s video game adventures. The combination of Sonic, the rings and the mechanically-inspired base allows this decorative piece to incorporate several distinctive elements from the universe created by SEGA.
