SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI - Black Frost - Figure Fluffy Puffy 10cm

SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI – Black Frost – Fluffy Puffy figurine, 10 cm

Banpresto / Bandai Spirits completes its Shin Megami Tensei Fluffy Puffy series with Black Frost, Jack Frost’s dark alter ego. Standing approximately 10 cm tall, this figurine features his characteristic rounded silhouette with a black body, a purple headdress and ruff, as well as a red face with slanted eyes and a broad smile revealing his fangs.

Like the other figurines in the Fluffy Puffy range, the rigid PVC sculpture has a soft, velvety flocked finish. This surface gives it a texture visually reminiscent of a soft toy, particularly well-suited to the simple, rounded shapes of the Frost family, whilst retaining the qualities of a figurine intended for display.

Character background and lore

Black Frost is a darker and more powerful variation of Jack Frost who has appeared on several occasions in the Megami Tensei franchise. His appearance retains Jack Frost’s general silhouette whilst largely inverting his colour scheme: white gives way to black, blue becomes purple, and his face features red eyes accompanied by fangs, giving the character a far more menacing appearance.

In Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, Black Frost notably appears as an optional opponent. This incarnation is linked to a Jack Frost who acquired dark powers before taking on this new appearance and settling in Kabukicho Prison. The character has since become a recurring one, and ATLUS continues to feature him in its official merchandise dedicated to *Shin Megami Tensei III*.

In Shin Megami Tensei V and Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, Black Frost belongs to the Night race and can be obtained through a special fusion. In Vengeance, he also shares an ice-based group move called Frost Storm with Jack Frost and King Frost, explicitly reinforcing the bonds between the various members of the Frost family.

The Fluffy Puffy version deliberately plays on the contrast between this dark personality and an extremely soft finish: the black body and red and purple colours retain Black Frost’s visual identity, whilst the velvety texture accentuates the compact and stylised nature of this collectable figurine.
