Character background and universe (Lore)

Aiolos of Sagittarius is one of the twelve Gold Saints tasked with protecting Athena and the Sanctuary. He is notably portrayed as a paragon of integrity, courage and loyalty to the goddess. Even before the main events of Saint Seiya, Aiolos plays a decisive role in Athena’s destiny.

When Athena has just been reincarnated as a baby, Saga of Gemini, having taken the place of the Grand Pope, attempts to assassinate her. Aiolos intervenes, saves the child and flees the Sanctuary with her. Saga then turns the situation against him and makes him appear to be a traitor in the eyes of the other Knights. Although seriously wounded during his escape, Aiolos nevertheless manages to entrust Athena and the Gold Cloth of Sagittarius to Mitsumasa Kido before he dies.

His sacrifice enables Athena to grow up as Saori Kido and indirectly paves the way for the arrival of Seiya and the other Bronze Knights. Even after his death, Aiolos’s spirit and his Sagittarius Armour continue to intervene at several decisive moments to protect Athena and come to the aid of her defenders.

This 1/10 Art Scale Sagittarius Aiolos figurine thus pays tribute to one of the founding characters of the entire Saint Seiya story, whose sacrifice, loyalty and legacy play a vital role in the saga.
