RURUDO - Monster motions Noah - Figure Espresto 16cm

This Banpresto figurine depicts Noah, an original character created by the Japanese illustrator rurudo, as part of the ESPRESTO – Monster Motions collection. Standing approximately 16 cm tall, it brings the character’s delicate and fantastical aesthetic to life in three dimensions, with a sculpt that places particular emphasis on the movement of the figure, the wings, the tail and the various elements of her outfit.

Noah strikes a particularly dynamic kneeling pose, her torso slightly tilted and both arms raised in a stance reminiscent of a feline. Her short, silver-grey hair with subtle mauve highlights frames her face, whilst her rose-red eyes and smile—revealing small fangs—emphasise her supernatural nature. A pair of black ears set on her head completes this deliberately feline aesthetic.

His black outfit consists of a light, ruffled ensemble, featuring small bows, matching bracelets and a black necklace adorned with a golden bell. A thin strap also wraps around one of his thighs. Two large, pale wings emerge from her back, whilst a long, dark tail follows the curve of her pose. The various folds in the costume, the movement of the wings and tail, and the attention to detail on the face and hair are among the features specifically highlighted by Banpresto for this Monster Motions collection.

Character background and lore

Noah is one of the original characters created by rurudo. The artist presents her as a vampire and links her closely to Hatsune. In an interview about her work and the PLAYROOM exhibition, rurudo explains that, within her universe, Hatsune is Noah’s ‘food’. This unique relationship also features in the artist’s other works, where Hatsune is described as the vampire’s pet.

rurudo’s original characters were subsequently developed in *Carneades*, an illustrated literary project conceived and created by the artist in collaboration with Kei Ayasato. The series features several supernatural races, including angels, demons, humans, beastmen and vampires. Noah plays a prominent role in it as a vampire princess.

The second volume of *Carneades* focuses specifically on Noah and Hatsune. It reveals that Noah belongs to the powerful race of vampires and that Hatsune is officially presented as her ‘pet’. When vampires begin to be murdered by a hunter specialising in their elimination, Elle and Eve step in, in particular to protect Hatsune and come to Noah’s aid. This plotline further develops the relationship between the two characters and gives Noah a more significant narrative role beyond her initial original illustrations.
