Origin and character background
Rapunzel and the little chameleon Pascal are the main characters in the animated film*Tangled*, released in 2010 by Walt Disney Studios. Abducted at a very young age by Mother Gothel for her golden hair, which possesses magical properties of healing and eternal youth, the princess grows up in seclusion at the top of a hidden tower. For eighteen years, her only and most loyal companion is Pascal, a chameleon brimming with personality who supports, advises and protects her from the dangers of the outside world. Her life is turned upside down the day the dashing thief Flynn Rider breaks into her gilded cage, finally offering her the chance to escape and fulfil her dearest dream: to uncover the mystery of the sky lanterns released every year across the kingdom on her birthday.
