Origin and lore of the creature

The phoenix is a mythological bird associated since antiquity with the cycle of death and rebirth. According to tradition, it lives for a very long time before burning itself up in flames, then rising from its own ashes.

Similar tales appear in several cultures, notably in Greek, Roman, Egyptian and, more broadly, Eastern traditions. Over time, the phoenix has become a universal symbol of renewal, immortality, resilience and transformation.

Its association with fire and its ability to be reborn have made it a particularly popular creature in novels, films, video games and works of fantasy.

This POP! Myths No. 33 thus brings one of mythology’s most powerful symbols to life in Funko’s signature style, creating a piece that is both decorative and instantly recognisable.
