This premium official soft toy brings a touch of softness and magic straight from the poetic world of Studio Ghibli. Officially licensed by Semic, this collectable soft toy celebrates the most curious and determined of the little sea creatures in Japanese pop culture.
The design incorporates the unique stylistic features of the Japanese Nakayoshi collection (meaning ‘best friends’ in Japanese), specially created to convey the tenderness of childhood and the comfort of peaceful rest. Measuring 21cm, this soft toy captures Ponyo in one of her most adorable moments: dozing on her front, in a particularly relaxed and cute reclining pose. Its soft, ultra-plush texture makes it a true cuddly companion, perfect for holding in the palm of your hand or adding a touch of softness to any space.
The soft toy faithfully captures her distinctive features, depicting Ponyo wearing her iconic little red dress, her eyes closed as if she were gently drifting off to the land of dreams. Made from silky polyester fibres and featuring meticulous finishing touches, it showcases her rounded shape, delicate little fins and characteristic pink-orange hair. Designed to decorate a bedroom, adorn a collector’s display cabinet or accompany young and old alike in their daily lives, this collector’s item comes with its official Ghibli cardboard label.

Origin and character lore
In Hayao Miyazaki’s 2008 feature film, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, Ponyo — originally named Brünnhilde by her father — is a magical little goldfish girl, daughter of the ocean wizard Fujimoto and the goddess of the sea. Driven by an insatiable curiosity about the human world, she escapes from her underwater home and meets Sôsuke, an adorable five-year-old boy who lives at the top of a cliff. After he saves her and names her ‘Ponyo’, an unbreakable bond forms between them. Driven by pure love and fierce determination, she uses her powerful magic to transform herself into a real little human girl. This Nakayoshi edition celebrates the spirit of innocence, joy and profound tenderness that emanate from this maritime masterpiece by Studio Ghibli.
