Recreate a veritable temple dedicated to books and knowledge with this modular bookcase from Pantasy. Listed under reference number 85077, this 2,956-piece set depicts an imposing academic library inspired by classical European architecture, featuring a monumental façade, tall arched windows, columns, climbing plants and numerous architectural ornaments.
The interior extends over two levels around a vast, open-plan atrium. On the ground floor are the circulation desk, several reading areas and large wall-to-wall bookcases, all lit by a skylight in the roof. The décor is complemented by a fresco depicting scholars gathered in discussion and by a sculpture of *The Thinker*.
Upstairs, a staircase leads to a gallery dedicated to special collections, featuring new bookcases, reference areas and a fresco depicting the Acropolis. The set also includes three original Pantasy characters designed to bring the building to life. Its modular design allows it to be combined with other urban constructions from the brand to create a complete street. Once assembled, the model measures approximately 26 × 35 × 26 cm.
The design of this model is inspired by the great European academic libraries, buildings in which the architecture plays as much a part in the preservation of books as it does in the celebration of knowledge. The classical columns, arched windows, vast bookshelves and the atrium lit from above give the model the appearance of an ancient institution dedicated to the study and transmission of knowledge.
Pantasy reinforces this inspiration with several references to classical culture and philosophy, notably the frescoes depicting scholars, the Acropolis and the sculpture of ‘The Thinker’. The design thus transforms the library into a veritable architectural diorama, conceived as much for the pleasure of building it as for display alongside the brand’s other modular buildings.
