See Roronoa Zoro as a child with this Funko POP! Animation No. 2403 figurine, inspired by the world of One Piece. This figure depicts the future swordsman of the Straw Hat crew at a time when he was still training to fulfil his ambition of becoming the world’s greatest swordsman. Featured with his katana, Zoro here adopts the characteristic style of POP! figures, with an oversized head and deliberately stylised proportions.
The character is depicted in his childhood outfit, holding his sword – an element directly linked to his training at the dojo in Shimotsuki Village and his rivalry with Kuina. This choice offers a different take on the many POP! figures dedicated to the adult Zoro, revisiting the origins of his calling as a swordsman.
This item is presented by Funko as a Retail Exclusive and bears box number 2403. It also features the new authentication system used by Funko for certain exclusives, with a sticker bearing a unique code that can be verified via Octane5. Roronoa Zoro is the swordsman of the Straw Hat crew and the first companion to join Monkey D. Luffy on his adventure. Originally from the village of Shimotsuki in the East Blue, he has harboured the ambition to become the world’s greatest swordsman since childhood. His fighting style would later evolve into the famous Santoryu, a technique involving the simultaneous use of three swords.
During his childhood, Zoro trained at the dojo run by Koshiro. There he met Kuina, his master’s daughter, whose swordsmanship surpassed his own: despite numerous duels, Zoro never managed to defeat her. The two young swordsmen eventually promised each other that one of them would one day become the world’s greatest swordsman. Following Kuina’s accidental death, this promise became one of Zoro’s fundamental motivations.
The Wado Ichimonji sword, once wielded by Kuina, is then entrusted to Zoro by Koshiro. It becomes one of his most important weapons and remains with him long after he leaves the village. This POP! figure, depicting Zoro as a child with a katana, therefore directly references the period when his calling as a swordsman and his dream of becoming the best in the world truly began to take shape.
