Take to the skies for new aerial adventures and survive the wildest updrafts thanks to the playful plastic engineering of the Grand Ship Collection range developed by Bandai Spirits.
This special ‘Flying Model’ edition captures the transformation of the Thousand Sunny as seen in the feature film*Stampede*. The scale model is instantly recognisable by its lion-head figurehead, topped here with a blue and amber-coloured emperor penguin helmet. The injection-moulded plastic hull features modified side stabilisers and a rear rudder to simulate hovering, offering a unique, fantastical aesthetic that stands in stark contrast to traditional maritime versions.
XXL deployable wings and display waves:
The real visual impact of this model lies in its flight appendages and modular base. The kit includes:
- Two huge, streamlined blue wings (penguin ailerons) that clip onto the sides of the hull to give the ship an aerial wingspan.
- A pre-printed, curved white mainsail displaying the Straw Hat Crew’s Jolly Roger.
- An exclusive commemorative booklet celebrating 20 years of Eiichiro Oda’s licence.
A choice of two premium display options:
True to the collection’s versatility, the box includes a clever dual-purpose diorama base. When assembling the model, you can choose to display the Thousand Sunny suspended in mid-air on a discreet black support arm, or to set it within two superb clear blue plastic wave effect pieces to simulate a dynamic splashdown or a full-speed departure from the waves.
