Origin and background of the character
Marshall D. Teach, better known as Blackbeard, is one of the main and most formidable antagonists in the One Piece pirate saga, created by manga artist Eiichiro Oda. Ambitious, patient and utterly unscrupulous, he upsets the balance of the world by seizing the Dark-Dark Fruit (Yami Yami no Mi) and then, during the Battle of Marineford, the Quake-Quake Fruit (Gura Gura no Mi). His meteoric and Machiavellian rise makes him the only man in history to master two Devil Fruits at once, propelling him straight to the rank of Emperor of the New World.
This 10 cm figurine brilliantly captures the refined aesthetic of this legendary buccaneer. The sculpture ingeniously utilises transparent parts to bring to life his dark aura and the swirls of destructive darkness that accompany his powers. His long captain’s coat, pistols tucked at his waist, and expressive face marked by his provocative grin and missing teeth are rendered with detailed painting. This figurine is a must-have for any collector wishing to celebrate the dark power of Emperor Teach, particularly alongside the character of Buggy from the same collection.
