Character background and universe
Jaguar D. Saul is a former Vice-Admiral of the Navy and a giant with a noble heart, hailing from the pirate masterpiece One Piece created by mangaka Eiichiro Oda. Bearing the mysterious "D.", Saul chooses to betray the Navy’s orders when he realises the cruelty of the World Government, refusing to take part in the annihilation of innocent scholars. Stranded on the island of Ohara, he forms a deep and touching friendship with the young Nico Robin. During the terrible Buster Call, Saul sacrifices his freedom and confronts Admiral Aokiji to protect the girl’s escape, passing on to her his iconic laugh (“Dereshishishi”) and his unshakeable conviction that no one is born into this world to remain completely alone.
This 20 cm figurine from the "DXF-Special" collection captures with remarkable fidelity the refined aesthetic and robust stature of this protective giant. The sculpture meticulously highlights his characteristic red beard, his cowboy hat, and the natural folds of his sailor’s outfit. The warm and benevolent expression on his face perfectly conveys the character’s magnanimity and tragic heroism, establishing this as a highly symbolic and essential piece for any fan wishing to illustrate Nico Robin’s moving past.
