Meet Edward Newgate, better known as Whitebeard, with this impressive figurine from Banpresto’s King of Artist collection. Standing approximately 33 cm tall, it showcases the full stature of the legendary captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, with a design crafted to capture his physical power and extraordinary charisma.
The figurine depicts Newgate with his famous bisento, his wide captain’s cloak and his imposing white moustache. The pose emphasises a massive and solemn presence, perfectly suited to the King of Artist format, a range that highlights the characters’ silhouettes and commanding presence. Several specialist retailers also describe this version as featuring a red cape and a weapon ready for battle.
With its particularly generous size, this version of Whitebeard makes an ideal centrepiece for a One Piece collection, particularly alongside the other great captains and major characters from the Marineford arc.
Edward Newgate, nicknamed Whitebeard, is one of the greatest legends in the One Piece universe. Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates and a former member of the Four Emperors, he has long been regarded as one of the most powerful men in the world.
Newgate stands out as much for his strength as for his very particular take on piracy. Whilst many seek above all wealth or domination, he regards his crew as a true family and calls his men his ‘sons’.
His power stems in particular from the Gura Gura no Mi, a Devil Fruit capable of generating powerful vibrations and shockwaves destructive enough to disrupt an entire battlefield. His physical strength and mastery of combat also make him a formidable opponent even without using his power.
Whitebeard plays a major role during the Battle of Marineford, where he rallies his crew and allies in an attempt to save Portgas D. Ace. This confrontation goes a long way towards cementing his legendary status within the series.
The King of Artist range is therefore particularly well-suited to Edward Newgate: his imposing figure, his cape and his iconic weapon require a format large enough to do justice to his presence.
