Character background and lore
In the ninja universe created by Masashi Kishimoto, Kakashi Hatake (also known as ‘Kakashi the Copy Ninja’) is one of the most formidable and respected elite shinobi in the Hidden Village of Konoha. A former member of the ANBU special forces and son of Konoha’s legendary White Fang, his fate took a tragic turn during the Third Great Ninja War, when he received the Sharingan, the hereditary eye of the Uchiha clan, from his dying comrade Obito Uchiha. This divine eye transplant grants him the unique ability to perceive, anticipate and copy over a thousand Ninjutsu techniques from his opponents. Appointed head teacher and leader of Team 7, he takes Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno under his wing. A master of his own devastating technique, the Lightning Cutter (Chidori / Raikiri), this phlegmatic leader and great admirer of Jiraiya’s tactical novels harbours an unwavering sense of honour, constantly reminding his pupils that in the world of ninjas, those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum.
