Character background and lore

Stain is a criminal known by the nickname ‘Hero Killer’. He believes that the vast majority of professional heroes are merely impostors motivated by fame or money, and considers that only those who demonstrate a true spirit of self-sacrifice deserve the title of hero. This radical view of justice leads him to attack and murder those he deems unworthy.

His Quirk, Bloodcurdle, enables him to paralyse a person after ingesting their blood. Combined with his speed, reflexes and mastery of bladed weapons, this power makes Stain an extremely dangerous opponent, even when facing multiple heroes.

He plays a central role during the Hosu incident, when Tenya Iida seeks revenge against him. Izuku Midoriya steps in to help his classmate, soon joined by Shoto Todoroki. This confrontation lays bare Stain’s ideology and has a lasting influence on several characters and future villains in the series.

This 18 cm Ichibansho Stain – A Story of Reaching Out figurine thus honours an antagonist whose significance extends far beyond his physical confrontations: his radical convictions regarding the concept of a true hero have left a profound mark on the My Hero Academia universe.
