Origin and character lore
In the world of My Hero Academia, Izuku Midoriya – nicknamed ‘Deku’ by his rival Katsuki Bakugo – is, paradoxically, born without any powers (without an Alter) in a world where 80 per cent of the global population possesses a superhuman ability. Despite the taunts and his disability, his innate sense of self-sacrifice and his selfless courage in saving others catch the attention of the legendary Number One Hero, All Might. All Might chooses to make him his spiritual successor by passing on his own sacred Quirk, One For All. This cumulative power grants him phenomenal superhuman physical strength and speed, but initially causes his body to break down with every use. Upon joining the prestigious Hero Course at Yuei High School (U.A.) in Class 2-A, Deku learns to channel this energy through the Full Cowl style and the Shoot Style of foot-based combat. As he grows through the crises he faces against the Villain Alliance, he gradually establishes himself as the future pillar of world peace. This figurine celebrates the self-sacrifice, inner strength and heroic rise of this young prodigy.
