Origin and character’s universe
In the world of My Hero Academia, a superhero series created by Kōhei Horikoshi, Izuku Midoriya (nicknamed Deku) is a teenager born without an Alter (superpower) in a world where the majority of the population possesses one. Despite this disadvantage, his determination and innate sense of sacrifice catch the attention of All Might, the greatest of all heroes. All Might chooses to make Izuku his successor by passing on to him ‘One For All’, a Quirk that grants colossal physical strength. Enrolling in Class 1-A of the prestigious Hero Course at Yuei High School (U.A. High School), Izuku learns to master this destructive power whilst facing repeated attacks from the Villain Alliance.
This Banpresto figure recreates the physical features and outfit of this apprentice hero. Izuku Midoriya is depicted wearing his ‘Gamma Suit’ hero costume, which features reinforced arm and leg protection to absorb the recoil from his attacks. He wears his textured green jumpsuit, his distinctive white gloves and his imposing red shoes with armoured soles. The 10 cm figurine strikes a dynamic, crouched pose in the midst of action, illustrating the character’s concentration and agility during a battle from the Japanese manga and anime franchise.
