Character background and lore
In the My Hero Academia universe, Eijiro Kirishima is a student on the Hero Course at Yuei High School (U.A.), driven by a keen sense of camaraderie, justice and nobility of spirit. His Quirk, known as Hardening, allows him to harden any part of his body until it has the consistency of rock or steel, making him impervious to physical attacks, explosions and sharp blades. Inspired by his childhood idol, the retro hero Crimson Riot, Kirishima chose the pseudonym ‘Red Riot’ and strives to overcome the self-doubts he harboured at secondary school to become an unshakeable bulwark for his allies. As the only student to have succeeded in forging a genuine bond of trust and friendship with the hot-headed Katsuki Bakugo, he distinguished himself heroically during the assault on the Hassaikai by pushing his Alter to its ultimate form, Red Riot Unbreakable.
